Nice find. There's a lot of good stuff in our mags from the 70's (insert your own jokes here!). I have Military Modelling mags from '71 & '72 with loads of interesting WW1 aircraft bits and pics in. Philpott authored a number of books & articles concerning modelling.
There used to be one hanging in the IWM London, not sure if it made it through the refurb.

Unfortunately not - the Lewis guns are instead of, not in addition to, the twin Vickers. Over-wing mounts so as not to blind the pilot when firing at night
