The scenario I chose for the 4 of us (Baxter, Windy Jack, Mark and myself) was an artillery spotting mission to be carried out by 2 Sopwith 1 ˝ strutters, opposed by 2 Albatros D.IIs.
We used a modified set of the existing scenario – we played on 3 mats rather than 2 but started the Sopwiths just behind the Entente trenches. Doug (Windy Jack) supplied a paper circle he had created to aid in judging distance from the target which, although not very photogenic (his words) made judging the distance extremely easy!
If you don't already have it, you can download the rules from the Files section here:

All set and ready to go:
The Sopwiths approach the target, keeping a wary eye on the Albatrii. Note Windy Jack’s circle referred to earlier.
The first shots are fired, distracting the spotter from his task (note the die used to keep score of the hits on the gun).
Collishaw joins in the lead ballet.
The trading of streams of lead continues as the Strutters attempt to complete their mission whilst, at the same time, protecting themselves from the harassing Albatrii.
The D.IIs continue doing a great job of preventing the spotters carrying out their task.
Collishaw takes a hit.
But quickly exacts revenge!
And the Strutters finally get some spotting action with a great result!
Collishaw swings around and pummels an Albatros while lining up for another attempt at a spotting run.
While the Albatros limps away to lick it’s wounds.
Enabling more damage to the Entente artillery.
Somewhere in here the other Strutter was shot down but I somehow missed taking a photo!
Both of the Albatros D.IIs are now shot down, leaving the remaining Strutter (Collishaw & Portsmouth) to continue with the spotting mission unopposed – victory to the Entente.
