Walnut range rulers
After a year of use, my card range rulers are getting a bit floppy. Recently I made a shelf from what I thought was an old floorboard, but it turned out to be a board of nice dark wood, walnut I think. Using the leftover wood I fashioned these range rulers and marked the half way line with a soldering iron.
I'd like to put cross/cockades on the ends, but my freehand wood marking with the soldering iron leaves something to be desired (see my practice attempts on the left)...

I like! Perhaps a stencil and some wood stain, instead? Although the freehand results are not bad.
For my computer graphics, I don't get perfect results without many tries people don't ever see.
