Yesterday September 24, 2022 at 6.30 PM, a new record for the largest game ever was set. 117 people played at the same table during the 21st FirenzeGioca, a renowed game show in Florence this year at Fortezza da Basso, an ancient fortification in Florence.

The table was 41.80 meters long, a winding snake composed by 19 tables of 220 x 80 cm each.
Organization was masterfully managed by Alberto Warlock Sarcinelli, and several veterans contributed - including friends from this forum. Brexit threatened the event - Ares Games could bring only part of the promised planes since several dozens coming back from a huge event in Birmingham were stopped by customs and were not received in time. Many volunteers from several regions brought planes from their own collection and saved the event, being also the teachers of the rules to a mass of newbies joining the event. 129 people signed the register and played, even if some of them with little kids left before the end and some came later to replace them, so 117 is the official number of planes as well as people counted at the start and playing at the sane moment.
Newspapers, radio broadcasts and tv news announced the challenge and then gave the resumt.
Thanks, thanks, thanks a lot to everyone joining or even just promoting the event, making the record possible.
Previous record was 100, again at FirenzeGioca in September 2013. Previous one was 92 in California. Here some history:
