Blue Origin's Crew Capsule (Note: it was not carrying any crew at the time, but about three dozen experiment packages) had to separate from the New Shepard rocket about a minute after launch, due to an unknown anomaly in the rocket. Though unplanned, at least it demonstrates that the escape system works. Video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v09RCNChe-w

And Artemis has had the leaky seal replaced; next step is a fueling demonstration on 17 September, to ensure the new seals don't leak; if they can pass that test, and get a waiver from Space Force for the batteries for the range safety system, then the next launch date is tentatively set for 23 September; if neither one happens, then the rocket will have to be moved back into the Vehicle Assembly building to have the range safety system batteries replace, and they'll have to wait for the next launch window, possibly 27 September.

    Hey, space is hard, folks.

    Well, sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee***t

Hurricane Ian has forced Artemis back into the Vehicle Assembly Building. https://www.space.com/artemis-1-roll...ne-ian-shelter Puts the next available launch window around mid-October.

But ifn' all y'all want to watch the DART (Double Asteroid Redirection Test) stream live, this should be the proper link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4RA8Tfa6Sck Stream should start at 1800 EDT (2200 Z/GMT), with impatct scheduled for 1914 EDT (2314 Z/GMT).

So, Artemis is scheduled to start rolling back to launch pad 39-B 0001 tomorrow ET. Somehow, the .64-km/hr crawl itself is supposed to be the next exciting thing. Whatevs, if you really want to , you can watch it live: https://www.space.com/nasa-artemis-1...-november-2022

Sam, sounds like watching the crawler is akin to watching paint dry

I hope it passes the tests and has a successful liftoff. Quite an impressive rocket!

Much more impressive for me will be the launch of the first Starship + Booster (S24+B7) maybe later this month after testing is complete. It will be the most powerful rocket ever launched and will pave the way for fully re-useable space hardware.

SLS is unfortunately old tech now, and looks like it too. I thought it was a shame that they got a new 10 launch contract instead of just scrapping it...Just creating more space junk, oh and of course jobs for the old tech companies?
