Hellog,
Presentation of the next big game of the club.
8 german pilotes against B-24
Combat box scenario
B24 Liberators of the 834th Bomb Squadron (486th Bomb Group) of the 8th Air Force are on their way to bomb the airfield of Lille/Vendeville( Next to the city where our club is located) where the 6/JG26 "Schlageter" is stationed
First game( morning)
You are faced with the B24 escort (P47 thunderbolt and P51 mustang)
For this first game half of the pilots present will be on the opposing side flying P51 Mustangs or P47 Thunderbolts.
second game
A combat box of 8 B24s crosses the board. It is up to you to try to destroy them.
Each B24 that leaves the mat enters again from the opposite side. This is to simulate a larger number of planes.
The 8 Libies will be staggered over several altitudes, however it will be very dangerous to be in the middle of the fight box......
Installation
Choice of planes, wingmen, leaders (D6)
Wingmen must stick as close as possible to the leader when he shoots, this gives a bonus, see scoring.
German fighters roll 1 D20: the points obtained are flak bonuses (I plan to land the bombers in the middle of flak explosions before the game)
Exit from the table (for fighters)
A fighter can leave the combat zone (table) and return:
By the same edge: spend 1 turn
By the opposite edge: spend 2 turns
By an adjacent edge: spend 2 turns
Firing
For FW190s
Frontal attack: draw an extra damage counter (your choice) and choose the most favourable.
Note: the fighters attacked from the front in order to add the speed of the fighter and the target, making it more difficult for the bombers to defend themselves.
Attack in the sun: no defensive fire.
Shooting at a B24 at close range: roll a D20 on 18+ the plane explodes (bomb bay)
If the wingman is within one ruler when a leader fires, the leader draws an additional damage counter (your choice) and chooses the most favourable.
[Herausabschuss (force a plane out of the formation)
Bomber in Trouble
A B24 that has taken two engine damage or reached 2/3 of its hit points leaves the formation (the mat) and moves to another table, the pilots can follow it to finish it off (or not).
Once the liberator is down, the pilots must wait 3 turns before they can return to the formation.
However, forcing a bomber off the table is worth 5pts
Points
During the games, you never lose a fighter/figure (it stays in place when you have reached the maximum of life points).
But when you have lost the equivalent of 1 fighter, you must start from a table edge and not stay on your last spot. (For the first game you cannot position yourself advantageously to the enemy fighters)
Your aircraft damage points will be added up as the game progresses and subtracted from your B-24 victory points.
The team with the most points in total will be declared the winner: victory points - damage points.
The loss of a plane causes a 5 pts malus (in addition to the hit points)
Destruction of a B24 (last hit point) gives a bonus of 10 pts
A herausabschuss gives a 5 point bonus
Fire damage points will be credited to the pilot who inflicted the special damage
The game will be played in September or early October
