Hey, he did test fly one!

Of course, if you're playing with a 100-point cap, then you couldn't do it anyway; Ace skills cost points and the D.VII is already 100.

It appears that we're getting two distinct Roland C.II's: 1-arc and 2-arcs.
The 1-arc is just 64 points--load that baby up with Ace Skills!

A few notes here (in Italian... but Google can translate):

On the App Store it's priced 8.99€.

As far as realism is concerned: the app gives you planes and gives you ace cards and skills, as the physical game does. Then it's up to you to decide how to match them, historically or not - as in the physical game.

I raised the cross-promotion and "unlock" question with RdM at Ares, will advise when I get an answer. Really wish the PC and tablet/mobile versions could do cross-platform multiplayer...

Or any other way to organize plays, such as a Discord or a Telegram group, a Steam group or whatelse!

If there's a way to transfer ownership to Rob or Andrea, I might be able to get a Discord set up. Telegram I'm a little more wary of because of real-world personal info, which I guard at Nuclear Launch Codes level.

An interesting idea, but I guess far above our current skill (need Keith for such operation and he's "retired"). Let's work with sticky threads (that's something we can do right now) in Hobby or WGF section and we'll see if the need would be still present after few weeks.

One other concern about spinning up a Steam group or Discord is that the Aerodrome name is trademarked, Keith has to pay a fee to use it under license for this site. If not for that and a few other questions, I could easily have both Steam and Discord groups set up for testing by end of next week.

There may not actually be a fee, it may just be a handshake and goodwill, but Keith IS using another person's trademark with the holder's consent.

So an Immelmann isn't allowed when on fire unlike the RAP rules?

Is it allowed in the RAP rules? If you have to plan straights to complete the move, that would be illegal.

PS: Purchased on Steam. Getting my main computer back from the shop this afternoon.

    It depends......

It is only illegal to PLAN an Immelmann whilst on fire (because of the compulsory subsequent Straight).

If you already have it planned, but are THEN set ablaze before you perform it, then the Immelmann itself is legal, and so is the subsequent Straight, but when you play the Straight you must take an 'A' Damage Card for performing a Straight whilst on fire.

    Timing is everything!

Also note that, when using Ace Skills, a plane flown by an "Acrobatic Pilot" can choose any card to play immediately subsequent to the Immelmann, so he can play a Straight, and be set on fire during the shooting phase, as the third card of a given Turn: he can then legally plan an Immelmann as his first card of the next group of three, because his post-Immelmann 2nd card need not be an illegal Straight.

Bloody great fun, shot Andrea down in my first on-line game, was second on the leaderboard behind Killer Moth when I called it a day. Worth every penny... great to see a number of familiar ‘faces’ (well names) up amongst the clouds. Download and take off !!

Yep, good to see some familiar names. Though my first attempt to register my username was denied due to "profanity"!
The chat is a bit tricky on mobile (android), but the game is great.

    From Google to you:-

How to activate a Steam Game Key/Code
Launch Steam and log into your account.
Go to Games then click on Activate a Product on Steam...
    Click on "Next".
    Click on "I agree".
    Enter the code you purchased.
Go to your Steam Game Library, highlight the game, and click install.

Well I just flew off the mat in my first ever game! I left the turn too late in my Roland after successfully taking a picture in the Recon mission.

I keep forgetting how the K deck functions. Good fun though and I hit the defending Spad a few times and set him on fire.

I am convinced that Sniper is a necessity, if Ace Skills are allowed.

The boundaries may be too limited; SPAD's are hard to contain.

No idea why that is the case. The "Aerodrome" referred to there is a completely different game that has nothing to do with Wings of Glory. Linking to a trademark like "Wings of Glory" I could understand, but paying because you've used a word that is included in several other trademarks for various aerial activities seems somewhat ridiculous

Agreed. Speedy planes are at a distinct disadvantage. 5 straight cards from Start position and you're off the board... and that's traversing the longest dimension, not the width!

Malachi (Chris) helped me get on last night. We then proceeded to shoot each other down a few times and ended with a collision taking us both out. I can see this becoming very addictive!

I should have looked here before processing mine.
I was having the same issues trying to get it to show in PayPal, so I finally figured that $6.00 wasn't worth the hassle.

Played the Tutorials and one advanced (with altitude) - will try some more this afternoon.
