    Default Another pivot base solution

Well its hard to come to the hobby a little later than most. Finding nice bases to use or pegs to go in the Litko ones. So I am working on my own pivot solution. I use a dress makers pin cut down to size and inserted into the model (in this case a paint and Glue Dh2). The stand is a piece of 3mm rod with a short piece of Neoprene Remote Control engine fuel line (it grabs well) on the end.

A few pictures of my first shot.

Also a welcome from me Julian.
That is a very innovative and simple solution to what has been a much discussed problem.
It is also probably the cheapest one that I have seen.

Welcome to the 'Drome' Julien. Like the simplicity of your Pivot system, a lot more straight forward than mine!

Nice and thanks for posting. Those models .... are they balsa planes? I have some balsa planes myself and they look similar.

Thanks for all you kind words and welcome. I use a similar system with my 1:600 and 1:700 models using Airforce Dauntless as the system.

The models are resin from Paint and Glue (https://www.paintandglue.co.uk/) not a big range but a lot cheaper than by from Shapeways with less of the annoying stipple. I think the models hold up ok to Ares latest and I tried Valom and I have one half finished Nueport 11 just to frustrating. I'll post pictures of the finished models when done.
