Here is a flight of IJN B6N Tenzan carrier-based torpedo bombers. These were the replacement for the B5N Kate. These are all AIM Planes and Misc Mini decals. As usual, they were painted with an airbrush using Mr Color paints. If you hadn't noticed, I'm a big fan of these paints. They go on outrageously smooth, are tougher than nails and have a superb color mix available. On the bad side, they are pretty nasty, so air extraction and a mask are a must.
First up is a plane from the aircraft carrier Junyo. This and all the others are marked as they were during the Solomons campaign. Note the low visibility Hinomaru on this one. They tried this for a little while during the mid-war period. I decided not to let the panel lines run through the national markings. The panel lines are quite a bit out of scale and really make the hinomaru look lousy.
Next up is a plane from the carrier Shokaku.
Last but not least we have a unit from the carrier Taiho.
I'm getting a little better with the camera, but still have more work to do. Only a few more Imperial Japanese types left to do and I can move onto focusing on the Allies in the Pacific. That will keep me busy for a couple years!
