    Default Huzzah! 2022 Game 1

Huzzah! Game 1 – Battle of Britain

The first game run at Huzzah had two waves of Dornier Do 17s crossing the channel on their bombing mission to Britain. They had to cross the length of a 4’ x 6’ mat and exit the far side. They were escorted by a pair of Bf 109 Es. RAF defenders flew a pair of Hurricanes against the first wave and a pair of Spitfires against the second wave..
The Dorniers were flying randomly. Their deck (all 3 flew the same card, in formation) had 2 straights,1 stall, 1 turn in each direction, 1 slip in each direction, 1 climb treated as a stall, 1 dive that repeated the previous non-turn.

The first wave of Do 17s reaches the coast of Britain.

The victorious Spitfire now latches on to the lead bomber’s tail.
The trailing bomber collects a Boom but it is not a true Boom. I used my random event list instead of the Boom. Robert (RJG173) kindly made my list into a deck of cards which I used through Huzzah!. In this case the bomber was forces into making 3 left turns unknown to the RAF.

    Great AAR, Peter.

I would be interested in learning more about your Boom process.

Bit worried about that German pilot of the Dornier that got the Boom..
...In this case the bomber was forces into making 3 left turns unknown to the RAF...
And then he turned right !

I like the usage of the ruler cut in half and antennas. I am about to start on making my antenna set.

A very interesting scenario. The Spits seemed to have the best of it, although as I understood it usually the Hurries did for the bombers whilst the Spits distracted the fighters. Just goes to show how things don't always follow the book!

Thanks for posting this entertaining AAR Pete.

    Rob.
I started this game with only 4 players so began with Hurricanes. A 5th joined in when we moved on to Spitfires. If I had the hoped for 12 pilots I could have had 3 each with Hurricanes and Spitfires. Hopefully at Origins I'll get a better turnout and fill the roster.

In the files 'HERE' you can find the random events I replace the Boom with. 1/6 of them are an immediate end. The rest range from slowly taking you out to minor nuisance. It was set up initially for WGF so a couple of them I ignore for WGS and draw again, like synchronization failure shooting off your prop.

Thanks for the link - I somehow missed those in the files.
