hello all,
Objectives for this month:
4 T&T objective markers (the ones in the box are a bit flat ;-) ).
A farm building, (for the tripods to trip over ;-) ).
Character sheets for pilots.
A sheet for making battle notes for AAR.
WOW is all I can say. Those are fantastic.
Well done Chris. I especially like the forward gunner leading the charge
Thanks, Craig. I think he's signalling to one of the pilots, at least that's what I hope Ares intended The HP would cut its engines then the forward observer would use hand signals for direction and when to drop the bombs.
Nice Tripes (you happy with the wing spacing Chris?), but I really like the HP
Never Knowingly Undergunned !!
Dom, it was to try and avoid detection by searchlights/AA at night, and it was still tough to hear with the wind whistling through one's ears and the bracing wires. The navigator would move to the forward cockpit through a small door and do the signals, there was a bomb sight on later models in the forward cockpit (on earlier models it was behind the pilot and the navigator had to lay down to use it, signalling with lights or by grabbing the legs of the pilot). After the bomb(s) were dropped the pilot fired up the engines and turned the lumbering beast towards home.
What! its the 25th already!
wow, well I have not done as much as I hoped, DIY and the garden have kept me very busy this month.
I have managed to make two objective markers, a tent and a fuel dump... all part of a futur airfield
Also the "first drafts" of the campaign character sheets and After Action Report sheet are up on the T&T House rules....
Have not been posting lately but that does not mean I am not busy. For years I have been giving you shots of Zulu war Brits and Natives 10 at a time that I was doing for the hobby store. Well, the display is up and while I DID NOT do the terrain and buildings (Pete from the Hobby store did that) I did do over 95% of the figures. It is on display at the Toy Soldier Shop in Royal Oak Michigan right now.
Enjoy.
just "wow!"

Very impressive Ken.
It reminds me of the Diorama of Cold Harbor which I did for my schools History department many years ago. It was what really started me into wargaming in the first place. Must have been about 1977.

Awesome, Ken, awesome!

Certainly catches the feel, drama and action of the fight toward the end of the engagement, though lacking casualties amongst the Zulu I think.

Pete did a good job setting up the feel though there were certain additions we had discussed adding. Things like more casualties, open cartridge boxes on the ground, and the like. Problem is too much detail can clutter the whole thing up and make it too busy.
Dang, Ken, a superb job, yours and Pete's also.
I definately need to visit sometime.

Very nicely done Paul.
Ken and Dave: both of those are impressive!
