Don’t know the story behind the pic but it must’ve been good. The pic is epic !

Long story short for those 'youngsters' on the forum - I painted up a Caproni, stuck some penguins in it and sent it round the world. It was posted to a succession of members worldwide, each one photographing it at its new location. It was accompanied by a log book to which were added comments and other trinkets on the way. It eventually ended up in the U.S. where it was raffled to raise funds for getting whoever was that year's lease-lend candidate over to Origins. The album with photos of its travels is here.

Doubt if it could be repeated, given the horrendously increased postage rates these days.

i remember this being big when i 1st joined the drome.
sure would be interesting to have a "PENGUINS; THE NEXT GENERATION" gadding about in a "liberated" b-17.
