Thread: I was thinking - map stuff

Default I was thinking - map stuff

When we do an AAR it is almost impossible to get all the planes on the mat in a photo and therefore hard to show relative positions etc. It would be useful I think if we had some sort of map where each player could be clearly represented on a grid like background. Then we could incorporate that into an AAR. Sort of like a user made Blue Max map from youplay.it

    Whatcha think?

I’m wondering if that would that add an extra layer of ‘book keeping’ while we were actually playing?

If all manoeuvres were logged, the position and rotation of all aircraft at each phase is known. So that could be done afterwards by a spreadsheet or similar.

In my AAR I throw in an occasional top down aerial view to show the relative positions - especially if not much has been happening.

    I'm tall. 1.9m (6'3")

It takes a big table to prevent me getting an overshot.

PS: Then, the Photoshopping to add clarity for little planes on a deep colour background.
