Indeed. Several pieces of the Gotha, including the propeller, are in the museum. I did an AAR here recently:

That’s pretty cool, thanks.
Interesting stuff. Doubtless this action & the awards that followed were the reasons they were selected for the model.

I wonder why they selected the Browning & Duke ... maybe for being a bit of douchebags.

Probably just wanted a crew who took part in one of the most notorious incidents from the early days of the USAS & who wasn't the leader responsible for it. Think they were extremely unlucky & suffered for their relative inexperience.

Thanks for posting the link, Honza.
I laugh in the face of danger - then I hide until it goes away!
Interesting. Was he related or just a namesake I wonder ?
"He is wise who watches"
I can ask him, he is still around, but i'd say just a namesake.
Thanks Jan

Hi All
Bit late to the party on this one but as they flew from North Weald there are some exhibits in the Airfield Museum. It's small but within easy walking distance for me.

Most of the information is contained in this booklet along with other activities during the Great War.

The airfield remains active despite the efforts of the Ordnance Survey who for many years marked it as disused.
Cheers
