Theme: From Somewhere Else...
(Aircraft in the colours of a different nation from the design/production process (ie Spitfire in American colours etc.)
Period: 1914 - 1945

Scale: 1:144 / 1:200
Notes:

Repaint must be produced from 25^th April 2019 to 6^th May 2022.
No publishing in the painting showcase before 6^th May 2022.
No non-historical schemes. Planes should be painted in actual historical schemes or at least in schemes very closely based on historical schemes for the plane in question.
Planes should be presented on appropriate base with four pegs, provided by painter (= no dioramas).
If plane is presented with it's own airplane card, this will be used as tie-breaker in case of two or more minies with same score.

Post names of you fellows in case you are not comming alone.
Check Mission List adn confirm if you are ready to run you 2020 game.
Tim, and only Tim: Post your statement about Repaint contest. I do not have any strong opinion, so feel free, sir.

The only thing that makes me sad is that there will be probably a small fee (100-200 CZK?). The system in Gutovka Restaurant is there will be 10 000 CZK deposit and they'll cut it with our orders. So come hungry and thirsty

Hi Dan

I'm afraid I can't as yet commit to attending Prague this year.

There are many reasons, predominantly the ongoing Coronavirus Pandemic still heavily impacting my job, and also the need to have reserved my Leave for attending Origins in June.

Now that my Origins trip has been postponed to next year, I am hoping to reallocate that Leave to cover Prague instead.

Now that the Prague dates have been confirmed, I can try to make the change, but lack of Staff at work and a continuing heavy Covid patient load mean that this might not be possible...

I'll do my very best to sort it out, and I'll post on here as soon as I know anything definite.

Sorry guys. Still too risky for me. Me and my family decided not to travel to any foreign country at the moment. Maybe and hopefully next year. This also means I can not host my WWI mission: "Last Dance of the Hussar".

Due to the fact, that the German crew will be very small, I'll arrive by bus...

Dan - that has some influence on the missions I try to host.

So the number of participant will be interesting.

Maybe we do not need that many games...

It depends. I would like to have it as a voluntary contribution. It is not a problem for me (or for you) to pay it, but I can imagine it could be for example for a teenager. So hope we can share this financial burden together and let the entrance free for those who can not afford it

Happy to pay the entrance fee for anyone under 21 who wants to come to the Con. Need those young pilots , us vets are getting long in the tooth and the game needs new blood.

Hi Dan

I think the contest should go ahead this year, as planned.
Some folks have already completed their entries, and it's not fair to make them keep them under wraps for another whole year.
And, anyway, it's by no means Guaranteed that I will be able to come to Prague next year...though I would really like to.
The painting contest doesn't actually NEED me - everyone can judge the entries just fine on their own, and you (Dan) have laid out the criteria clearly and concisely for others to join in if they wish.

I haven't given up on this year just yet - there are still a few arms left for me to twist!
Just short of time is all...

Thomas, this is a very good question, thank you for it!
MARS is closed, Svět deskových her is still on Kubánské náměstí and Gutovka restaurant is...plese, drums!, right on Strašnická station of Prague metro line A (well, in fact 150m from it).

🚇Any acommodation close to any station of line A is a good solution (the very last train departs on 23:58 from Strašnická in direction to center). Line A is the closest one to the airport (don't ask why it isn't go directly there, a big shared pain of all citizens and tourists).
🚋Strašnická metro station is also a tram hub: there are tram lines 7; 19; 26 and pretty close a very long line 22 (330m, tram stop Průběžná).
🗺️Oh, I see you are bit confused with metro and tram lines. Do not worry, there is still several real engineers working for public transportation company and they prepared many maps and diagrams of public transportation. The best and my favourite (used also for my work) are Metro and Trams (day) and Trams and Buses (night). You can't get lost with the first map and you will be prepared better than Bear Grylls with the second one.

Expected number of participants is between 30 and 50.
No need of your minis, we have plenty of them.
If you build or repaint your minis, feel free to bring them with you and play if you want. We love to see good work.
No registration to tables, just come and play.
Some childern (10+ y/o) are not as strong in English as should be, so just ask somebody to translate in case of need.
Maybe there'll be a small fee for joing to pay for Gutovka restaurant place reservation (probably minus money what we pay for their drinks and food). It should be less than 10€.
Public transportation in Prague is good. Well, not as high level as in CH or D, but 90 minutes ticket costs about 1.5€. Highly recommend to use and save money for debriefing.
Friday & Sunday would probably be in Svět deskových her boardgame store. It's owner is fan of WoG and you can supply yourself with some minis. (www.svet-deskovych-her.cz)

So jealous, wish I could be there but alas I have two school audits to complete and am awaiting an OFSTED inspection, so things are very busy at the moment. Think I need to get a job it would mean less hours.

The Bougie scenario is a “Big & Angiolillo” production. If you have two Sails of Glory and one coast mats, very good. If you can even provide a WW2 set and a few Spitfire Mk.Is it would be great.
We will probably have a third Roman pilot with us. A veteran from Wings of Prague 2019. To be confirmed soon…
