Eventually the zeppelin went down! The cost in lost planes was very high!

Love that Zeppelin!! Where did you source the cockpit/damage chart for it and what rules set did you use?

Thanks for posting your game Dan. They are big birds and very costly in planes to shoot down.
It made an interesting diversion to see one in action again.

Coppens wrote the following after action report:

Came across enemy zeppelin under feeble attack by Allied single and two place aircraft. After the other friendly aircraft broke off I positioned for a head on attack. After making my pass (and taking some rudder and engine damage), I saw the zeppelin explode. There were EA in the area and I was able to make a pass upon one D type.

Claim submitted for one zeppelin and one enemy aircraft OOC.

Of course what really happened is that my plane kept suffering jam results, and so I broke away a couple of times until I could come around for a head on pass after shooting at an Alb. D.III. The other Allied aircraft kept going at the zeppelin, and so by the time I came into a firing position it was suffering from massive damage and fires. I believe I caused another fire but in return I did take a rudder and engine hit (after suffering an earlier pilot wound). The Coppens plane I had just picked up from Matt's collection that day, as as the sole Allied surviving aircraft I am taking credit the zeppelin kill.

Nice AAR; Zepps are always a difficult target in our game, esp. when escorted.

Absolutely. Dead men (even messmates) tell no tales

Nice AAR. What is the German seaplane on defense?

I believe it is the Brandenburg W.12, but I could be wrong. Camel Beagle flew it so he can confirm the identity.

Looks to me like an Albatross W-4 (single seater, and the classic Albatross tail).
    Most likely from Matts collection.

Yes, it is an Albatros W-4. Is is Ray's (G-Dog) plane. Ray did a good job on it. I believe Matt had one as well.

I have to say, it could not keep up with the attacking scouts.

Keegan (Lugburz) initially created some Zep rules, the charts were lost in the hack but the first Zeppelin owners out there probably have them. Neil may have based his version on these by the looks of them.
