Notice there's no mention of the WW2 Pacific planes

You're right, maybe these Andrea's FB posts from last days help:
There are some Covid-related problems at the moment. But the Blenheim and the S.79 are going to be released in the next months, I hope. And the P-38 should not be too far.For WW1 mostly reprints, and a long-delayed scenario & campaign pack. For WW2 a Pacific starter set, with P-38 and Corsair and more Japanese planes to be added. But it's a very crazy period. Let's hope to have news soon.

Great news! The quality of the Battlestar product from Dust Games was high, and the P-38 has been on my wishlist for years. I wonder if this will start to knock some of the inflation out of eBay prices? The campaign pack and so on sounds fascinating, and I wonder what new Japanese planes might be added? Though to be honest just a few Zeroes without the prices containing a few zeroes would be nice.
Good that they're working on getting back in the game. Shame they didn't exploit the opportunity to reshuffle the deck, but I can understand them wanting to throw Dust a bone after Universal yanked the rug out from under them on BSG.
One wonders why this decision took so long, but here we are and if things actually proceed, great! Drachen. Well, hell yes. I had to sell my one to raise money for another project. Broke my heart, but at the same time, I was hoping it was only temporary.
Sails of Glory! After the recent sale on Sails from Ares, I had just about gotten all the models I needed.
Oh, cool! I’ll be happy to see Fantasy Pirates. Oh wait…am I supposed to whine? Sorry, I get enough of that in Flames of War Mid-War Monsters at the moment. ;-)
Though I’d be pulling for sixth rates and US non-super frigates (have three copies of the Constitution for the United States and President already, so that base is covered). And since most pirate vessels were pretty small, I suppose Fantasy Pirates will scale better.
If memory serves, they're going to do the new line at a larger scale, which might also be a better fit for the Great Lakes flotilla actions. Queen Anne's Revenge was IIRC about the size of a 32-gun frigate, and probably the largest realistic pirate ship possible--I wouldn't expect even to see anything comparable to Bonhomme Richard or any other two-decker cruiser except on the merchant-target side.
Pirates! There goes more of my money!!!!
As always, do note the Standard Disclaimer in my signature, in tandem with the facts that 1. our friends in Italy do not always tell me everything and 2. my memory is not all that it used to be where I could rattle off stats like a Vickers or Lewis's bullets.
If Dust can
keep the quality they did on the BSG ships, Wings will see a new golden age for quality planes. Can't wait!
Rub is, Dust can only be as good as the specs and models they're given to work with; it sounds like the flawed UBD(?) tooling was packed up and trucked between factories. No improvement possible on existing sculpts without retool, and we need a more detail-eyed master modelmaker who actually gives half a crap about the differences between things like Emil vs Karl Bf109s.
Well that appears to be good news for a change. Maybe over time they'll look at correcting some of the errors in the old sculpts but more importantly they'll finally look at churning out some new ones for some new series.

Super! Something to look forward to in 3 years time
Run for your life - there are stupid people everywhere!
I would hope they are sensible enough to go with all new paint schemes for WoG at least. A new manufacturer will need to create new files and processes anyway, the smart move is to make the product in all new and exciting colors and schemes!
So Chris, can't bear the wait for ARES releases?
As for Dust's future projects, I think if they keep the quality on new products up to their BSG level, it has to be better than the hit or miss we've gotten on Wings planes in the past.
I thought the Battlestar miniatures looked pretty awesome! If they can come close to that I will be astonished!
It would be neat if they set up a poll or survey so all the WWI fans can vote on the plane markings and schemes!
This is great news. I am happy to see WoG transition from Italy to Hong Kong because it physically moves production from the European to the Pacific Theater. I would love to purchase more WWII aircraft as long as they are not rebooting BoB yet again.
From a rules perspective I also think WoG could use a little TLC, mainly to solidify points and make list balancing more central to the system. Your modern wargamer is not going to take WoG seriously without a points system geared toward competitive play. People who are interested in scenario play could just ignore points.
It's funny to be talking about points when two major releases are going in very different directions. X-Wing 2.0 has made significant rules changes and doubled the points granularity, with standard matches going from 100 to 200 and everything being recosted and with points adjustements regularly. Meanwhile Kill Team 2.0 has abandoned points for list construction rules, so one faction might get to choose two models from a subset, another might get to choose a set of basic troopers, and then add specialists that are mutually exclusive to them.
When you go to points there's opportunity for ludicrous detail like paying extra for altitude or going for simplicity by putting planes on the table and seeing what happens. Both can be fun!
The key is, nothing in excess. IMO both X-Wing and GW are in a mass marketing world that WoG will never see. Most all skirmish size games use points or other measurement of army size. I would look at Bolt Action or even better, Frostgrave or Stargrave as examples of a point systems that are both not crunchy and are necessary for the games to work. I will also say that Star Trek Attack Wing messed up their competitive system with too much special card play that ruins emersion and makes it feel almost like playing Magic. However, when they released a co-op and scenario based version, Alliance, they kept the list building and limited the card pool so it can be both a fun and engaging scenario based game with points now. Seriously, try out ST Alliance: The Dominion Campaign, it is a fantastic flying game with community made scenarios to expand the game (sound familiar?)
GW rules are not meant to to create a great game they are made to sell models so I would need to see a different example of a game system where no points works and the game has mass appeal. Besides, what GW did with Kill Team is create a hidden point system. It would be the same as WoG implementing a system where you could fly 5 Yaks or 4 Spits with 7 points of pilot skills or 3 P-51's with 10 points of pilot skills. They basically took away a bunch of choices and lumped groups of models together. They also went away from using measurements to movement identified by shapes, which was implemented in the most moronic way. In what world does a triangle represent 1, while 3 is a square?
I just want WoG design to tell me how many P-38's I will need to equal 6 Zekes!
Two
Looking forward to anything. If the quality goes up, even better!
The quality and detail on the BSG ships was outrageous. Without new tooling, I don't expect mirales, but consistent reasonable quality would be acceptable. I might repurchase some Ni-11s and Ni-17s just to get decent planes with guns on the upper wings, rather than blobs of twisted plastic.

For those that caught it, Andrea mentioned the WGF "Campaign & Scenario" Pack may be released this year. This will be a box with rules and some bits. It will have card decks for randomly selecting scenarios, randomly moving the date of missions along a timeline, and for figuring out what happens to planes and air crew if bad things happen.
The scenario generation can be tailored to available aircraft, and used separately for one-off games. The campaign rules are loose enough to allow a dedicated core of players to play a continuous campaign in an open forum (FLGS or club), but allow drop-in, casual players to join in and drop out. You could run a weekend convention with follow-on games tied into a campaign of three or four games, if desired.
The cards to determine the results of planes falling out of the sky could be used as a "Critical Hit" deck, such as some Forum members have posted, or like the rules used in some of the campaigns posted over the years. These could be used anytime, not just in campaigns, for color and laughs (or tears).
If we are really lucky, the boxed set may contain a copy (one each) of all the air crew skill cards in the game to date, including the campaign specific cards (of which there are a few). The campaign specific skills are ones that are really only applicable to pilots in a campaign, as something like a skill that gets a pilot access to planes earlier than normal wouldn't be useful in a pre-set scenario with specific planes as part of the set-up.
So looking forward to seeing this Pack hit the shelves, and sharing with friends and competitors.

Been a looong time coming; sounds like it will be really useful so hope it lives up to expectations.

Promising news!
Would love to see reprints and new miniatures.
Voilŕ le soleil d'Austerlitz!
I am looking forward to see what they come up in Campaign rules. Plane releases are great too. Hopefully I will be able to replace my paper models with original models so I can play with children and casual players with that types of plane. None of my paper models were harmed during play so far, but I am always quite nervouse about them when in hands of children or player I did not know so well . I also hope that this announcement will not lower my enthusiasm to build more paper models, when rare planes will be available again
The BSG stuff was excellent, this is great news.
Never Knowingly Undergunned !!
wwwwwoooooooohhhhooooooooo!!!!! never been so happy about impending poverty lol!!!
Hmmm...
You could press on, and adapt whatever comes out 'officially' to your rules?
There are a few campaigns already on the Forum, and I borrowed parts of them, as well as adapting WGS rules for playtesting of the Beta version of Andrea's rules.
Eventually, I want an app to do tracking of pilots and planes, as I'm having issues. We have lost a lot of both, and are adding more names to the roster due to KIAs.
