Thread: Free files for some of my WW1 models

  1. #1

Default Free files for some of my WW1 models

Most of my Shapeways sales these days are ships and WW2. The marketplace seems to be in slow decline there.

So for those of us that have 3D printers - I've decided to slowly get around to adding more of my WW1 model STL's to Thingiverse

The licence is "non-commercial" but I won't mind if you're individuals just selling the printed models to mates.
I made a mistake with the licence on one of my Thingiverse ships and a company took it, covered up my name and put it back on Shapeways in competition with my own model!
    Please don't do that.

There are currently 6 WW1 aircraft available at:

    https://www.thingiverse.com/decapod/designs

Dr1, Se5, EIII, DH2 and I've just added DH9 and Rumpler C.IV - since Valom will be selling those soon. Could be useful for the extra decals?

I'll add to this thread when I find time to add some more.

Thanks for sharing these with us Paul. I am sure everyone here with printers really appreciates you making these available for the masses, I know I do . I am recovering from a fractured spine at the moment so not able to get up to the printer at the moment but the Nieuport will be the first thing on printer when I can.

Thanks, its not been much fun, nearly 5 weeks since I did it and I can now hobble a few steps without crutches without too much pain. Its slow progress but slowly getting better, I have watched a lot of TV so far but hoping to get a bit of hobby time in as I get more able.

Just saw this. Even thought I don't have a 3D printer I am sure many will appreciate your effort and work.

Thank you very much for these great planes
(I also send you a message in thingiverse)
Luckily I have two 3D printer (1x FDM and 1x Saturn for resin) so I can print (and paint) them.
The "only" thing, which I would add.....is the "nose" of the propeller. Also with a transparent circle it will look a bit flat I think.

    It was my own blindness
The propellers are attached to the planes (for the print) and must removed manually and glued.
(I have printed already all of the available ones)

Only saw this thread today - That spine injury sounds nasty Tim - here's to a swift recovery

Paul, I don't have a 3D printer and would probably struggle to master it if I did have one, so this is just a thanks for your generosity. I'm sure you've made a lot of people very happy

Thank you Paul for a lovely and very appreciated gift. I can't believe those butt holes stole from you, relabelled and start competing. That is disgusting.
