    Default Queen's Platinum Jubilee

Do any of our brave UK members qualify for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Medal. Would love to see pictures of you brave individuals sporting your medal when you are awarded it.

The article I read has the following information.

Those who will receive the medal for Her Majesty The Queen's Platinum Jubilee are:

    1. Serving members of the Armed Forces that have completed five full calendar years of service on 6 February 2022.

    2. Frontline emergency services personnel that have been in paid service, retained or in a voluntary capacity, dealing with emergencies as part of their conditions of service, and have completed five full calendar years of service on 6 February 2022.

    3. Prison services personnel who are publicly employed and are regularly exposed to difficult and sometimes emergency situations that have completed five full calendar years of service on 6 February 2022.

    4. Members of the Royal Household with one year of qualifying service.

    5. Living individual recipients of the Victoria Cross and George Cross.

I have the Gold Jubilee medal, my mate has the Gold & Diamond Jubilee medals but we're both long retired now.

It arrived on my desk in a plain cardboard box & now sits in the Orderly Room along with my Police long service medal:

The Jubilee medals are worn in precedence of the service medal.

    Here's the Diamond Jubilee medal:

The jubilee medals were regarded as a gimme as you just had to be in & served for 5 years.
Two people who apparently won't be getting the Platinum Jubilee medal are Princes Andrew & Harry as no longer serving members of the Armed Forces.

Flash, those are quite pretty. Thanks for sharing!

I read about Andrew and Harry not being eligible because they have been stripped of their honorary titles and such.

I like the Gold medal - always thought HM looked quite grumpy, maybe it's the weight of the crown !

Are the medals like the minted coinage. The monarch representation is a current image?

So, as the NHS was awarded the George Cross, does that mean they are all eligible for one of these as well?

Hope so, but don't think so.
I laugh in the face of danger - then I hide until it goes away!
