Default Something to put in your new Diary

    Vapnartak 2022
    http://vapnartak.co.uk/

    6th February
    10.00-16.00

    York Racecourse
    YO23 1EX

This year’s event is still in the planning phase, but we have been invited to put on a show.

I’ve put in a request for our usual area, with the intent of putting on a simple WGS meat-grinder to keep the punters happy, whilst using the minimum of ‘dromers and keeping safe separation.

Hope to see you all there!

Who knows, I might even break out the Air Raid Siren….

    Default Punter only!

I will be there but as a 'Punter' only, as my use at the game table is minimal due to my instability (that's physical not mental by the way) which continues to increase. Vapnartak is what bought me back to wargaming after a very long break so continues to have a special place in my heart.

Will always be a pleasure to see you there!

I’ll be there (assuming it goes ahead), anything to play with the air raid siren again... I can always furnish a WW1 game as well, space permitting

Are we still full steam ahead for Vapnartak? Website seems to think so.

The Wettererkundungsstaffeln has been in touch and the forecast is still favourable for operations on the 6th.

The target will be Tangmere, with I./StG 2 and I./KG 54 attacking the airfield and elements from JG 2 and ZG 76 providing support.

Opposition is expected to be light but determined.

Crews to report by 0900 for final briefing.

    Operations are expected 1000-1600.

    Return to base 1700.

    Happy hunting.

I love the air raid siren, but even more than that I loved the panic it caused first time Simon used it. Hysterical... although not sure the organisers were as amused as I was.

Wow.... massive thank you to Simon (and his good lady wife) and Gary for a great day at York.
It was WW2 all the way with the gallant RAF Hurricanes scrambling against a seemingly endless flock of Stukas and Junker 88’s representing the attack on RAF Tangmere on 16th August 1940. There were a few guest appearances from Rebel, Rabbit 3 and at his first show as a member DiscoStu. We were definitely the most supported participation game of the day... Loads of Photos to follow.

Not one German bomber managed to get through to Tangmere, we salute those gallant RAF pilots that gave their all against impossible odds.

I think Hedeby may have been wearing rose tinted goggles!

True, 43 Sqn were getting stuck in:

…but they were running low on ammo and the rest of the Luftwaffe Armada where about to sweep the bruised and battered 43 out of the way…

A good day and a nice return to Vapnartak!

P.S. At the end of the day we we were approached by a trader who had been asked to sell this for a friend, so if you’re interested, contact them as the details on the card.

I'm glad it went well; I look forward to further photos.

Just sorry I couldn't free up the time to be there myself.
