There won't be a Cold Wars next year. Below is the release from HMGS.

Cold Wars 2022 Canceled
With much regret, the Board of HMGS has canceled Cold Wars 2022 (CW22), which was scheduled for April 1-3 in Ocean City, MD.

While this has looked like the probable outcome for a few weeks, we needed to finish negotiations with the facility and the hotel chains before making an official announcement.

In our analysis, we estimated that we would lose 50% to 60% of our exhibitor booths due to the location and the fact that the convention was scheduled for the weekend following Adepticon.

The likely significant loss of "day trippers", coupled with a reduced weekend attendance, also contributed to the negative financial picture.

We have also canceled our agreements for 2023 and 2024 with the facility.

We are now looking for a new facility for a spring show and hope to have a decision by the end of 1Q 2022.

They need to go back to Lancaster PA.
I don't know why they moved it in the first place.
This looks like a case of really bad planning and research.

Historicon will be in downtown Lancaster next July. The old Host they used to hold conventions at has been bought and rennovated. Maybe the new owners are too pricey for what they want to spend. I'll be listening carefully for where Cold Wars and Fall In go in the future.

Perhaps, but remember, they were supposed to be in Ocean City MD last year, so they had at least a year and a half to figure this out.
