Thread: New target cards

  1. #1

    Default New target cards

Having benefited from the custom cards found in the file section, I thought I would have a go at creating some of my own. Here are some target cards I have been making in GIMP. I am trying to stick to the original WoW style as much as possible, respecting the scale whilst making them look authentic by consulting WW1 aerial photographs. These are still works in progress, I will post them in the files section when done. Any feedback is welcome.

    1) Airfield:

    2) U Boat and blank water (when flipped may reveal a U Boat or may not, for use in reconnaissance scenarios):

    3) Some target cards of places in Zeebrugge (seaplane base on the mole, channel entrance with coastal battery, canal/sea lock), the location of various actions which could make a variety of good scenarios:

I just do a right click on the image and save to my computer.
So how many books are in your personal library?

Yep, same with mine, you can just save the images above and print off if you like. There are sized to be 300 DPI (dots per inch), so they should be the same size as a standard WoW card. I'll do a proper pdf for the files section when I've finished them all.

Sure, why not? What aircraft would you like on the ground?

"few" - a general indication of, a number less than "some", what an airfield would look like showing planes being repaired, painted, when the others are on missions.

just a comment on how this game affects real life. Does any one get the thought that when they see a Red Kite (bird of prey) there first thought is "It's an Albatros (plane not bird)

Sadly, I'm sure someone would have started a war in this time period for us to game now.

Who is this Albert Rii anyway. Was he one of those Central European Kings? Maybe Albert Rex the second or 11th?

These will be soon ready in the Files. I need to have them printed first.
It is a front and back, with 0.5cm bleed on sides and no grid (it is on this preview). It has marks all around edges so you can cut it up nicely, no need for a grid. One card, one target.

... and here is a target card if you wanna re-live it. You better like it, it took me a hour to draw that trench so it goes with the rest.

An amusing story, and good target card for it
And a very nicely drawn trench, I might add.

We playtested the scenario for the European Tournament in Rome, second weekend of June. We adopted Honza’s brilliant idea, but in a slightly different implementation: a second, adjacent target card with a hospital, not to be hit. Massimo, at his first mission, bombed the target perfectly with his Ufag, with no damages at the Red Cross camp nearby. Even if he wisely flew away from my Hanriots without a second pass to take pictures and bring back evidence.

I am glad i could help. The second 'hospital' card is a very good implementation because it is an independent card that you can place so it suits your needs.

I had mine printed today on 300g paper. I like 'Richthofen who parked his Dr.I by the river and went for a little fishing'.

A double-sided print on 300g paper and a 3 mm corner cutter makes it look and feel like something that fell out from Ares industries.
