Thread: Super Spits

    Default Super Spits

As there was only two of us last night, Mark and I decided to dig out my BoB set and do some WWII stuff. I flew the Spits and he the Stuka and 109.

1942 and a hit and run raid is made over Kent. A lone Stuka and his escorting bomb equipped 109 are ordered to hit some vital targets in England. Two Spitfires are flying against them. The Stuka quickly demonstrates that he is no novice when he knocks out the main target using vertical dive bombing. Pin point accuracy before the RAF even arrived to give battle!

But battle they did, and the Brave Stuka goes down but not before wounding the RAF pilot.

Meanwhile the second Spit closes in on the 109.

After a brief battle the 109 goes down too but not before releasing his bomb to destroy the second target!

Not a good look for the RAF who failed dismally to protect their ground assets.

So, who won? Targets destroyed but both German planes show down. Once again Mark proved himself to be a master bomber. The Spits were a bit too slow off the mark to affect his bombing.

    Congratulations for the successful bombings.
But it is also useful to have safe planes and pilots alive at the end of the game.
So, maybe a minor English victory ?

An expected air-to-air result, but offset by the deadly accurate bombing!
I'd call it a "winning draw" for the Luftwaffe.
I laugh in the face of danger - then I hide until it goes away!

From the few games i played, preventing bombers from bombing is very hard. Nice game!

Well done! That sure was some accurate bombing with the 109! I find Stukas are easy to thi their targets, if they can get to them. As Tim said, a winning draw for the Luftwaffe. Trading target hits with trained pilots is always too costly in the long run.

Indeed the targets were reached for the Luftwaffe but their pilots will not come back a second time... Contrary to the RAF pilots who will continue to intercept. And the next time the Spitfire pilots will be faster because they will be more experienced... Priority to the human being rather than to the material damage; otherwise it is called kamikaze...
But also as we say in French : "On ne fait pas d'omelettes sans casser des oeufs"
