Historicon game 2
Tommy on the Run
In the 2nd battle we have the German Schlachtflieger supporting the 1918 spring offensive with deadly strafing of the retreating British troops. J Types were also present along with Halberstade CLIIs and Hannover CLIIIs. The RAF threw up some Camels, SE5as and Dolphins to try to stem the tide.
The German mission is to push back the British troops on the ground. Every time a troop position is hit with a total of 6+ damage it will retreat a half measurement stick. The farther the line is pushed back the more points the Germans score with a bonus if the line is broken. (dice on the target cards track the damage)
The Germans are met by the RAF just as they get into range of the ground troops.
The usual rush to move the planes once I give the ok to move.
It appears the Camel with two cold hearts has no remorse in heating up a German Hannover.
As the planes swirl above some of the line begins to retreat.
The observer of the AEG J.II proves to be a worthy opponent and downs a Camel.
One Halberstadt is momentarily trapped between three RAF scouts.
Decisions, decisions, who to go after? The SE5 has a difficult time choosing who to attack.
Not a position you want to be in but at least the Hun was set on fire.
With some help from the Dolphin the red Halberstadt is sent into the ground.
The green Halberstadt cautiously watches the Camel heading off to it’s rear.
Another German plane set on fire. This one also succumbs but it has done it’s job.
The British line in this sector has been breached and must fall back further than HQ wanted to.
Victory to the Germans!
