Thread: Aviattic decals

    Default Aviattic decals

Today I was at the Telford International Centre. I was there to buy some hobby supplies and to have a chat with the event organisers about next years IPMS show. I Knew that Aviattic decals were going to be there, as I want some more lozenge decals. The trader only had samples in our scale. But once I told him want I needed he gave me some of his sample sheets for free. And I asked him if he will be tempted to rescale his decals to 1/144th scale. And good news he is going to be doing just that for his entire range of WW1 decals. And he showed me his decals for the Fokker Dr.I, and once more I was a very lucky chap as he also gave these fine looking decals to me for free. The Fokker Dr.I decals that I had today were in the factory finish. This is great news for the the custom plane painters out there.

I have recommended that the trader joins the forum. As I think that there might be quite a few folk on the forum who would very interested in buying his decals.

    Very well done, Double-Oh-Rolf!

I recall that someone on the Forum contacted Aviattic several years ago, and was provided with samples, but nothing ever came of it.

I look forward to seeing the results of your sample application!

Before the first lockdown Tim I was working on a Pfalz D.IIIa for Degalow when he was with Jasta 7. I even hand painted his white stag markings on the fuselage. I am very happy with what I managed to achieve. The stag on the left side of the fuselage looks very nice. and the one on the otherside looks slightly bigger and I had the Pfalz's wings in the way. I now need to get some decals to finish off his scout.

Nice work Mark - would like to see what he turns out, we need a 'local' source again.
I see Hannants list his products: https://www.hannants.co.uk/manufactu...n=asc&pageID=1

Thanks Baron Rolf. That's good news if they come through.

Rob and Zoe, thanks for the J40 decals. I see in the Osprey Fokker DVII aces part 2 they claim the tail stripes were dark blue.

    Yes, I saw that too.

I'm just going to make mine early white-tails, before the stripes were added.

That's the route I'm taking. They still look great without the later stripes and it will save quite a bit of time.
