My WW1ish game is actually called "Race of Glory"

Any chance of shifting it later in the schedule? I'd live to play in the Dubrovnik game

EDIT - 1300 slot if poss? I may have to nip out for the later afternoon to see a non-wargaming friend who is passing through

Count me as a possible, particularly for the Friday afternoon. That's the 30th September, right?

I will be down sometime Friday afternoon. I'm dropping Philip off at uni in Durham then stopping in Hartlepool to visit the Trincomalee so not sure what time I'll get to Doncaster. I'll bring one or two naval board games in case they are needed (and in case I'm in time - if we are playing what time would games finish?)

Chris, there could be some larger space for our event I think we can break a record - in the hall there could be place for 300+ players

Doncaster Sheffield airport to close after no ‘tangible proposals’ put forward

Anyway, sorry to read it - I have never been flying there, but would be no.1 if there would a be a connection. Maybe in far future...

Closing the airport is a travesty. As the article says, Peel have no interest in finding a solution that keeps it open, but thats another matter.

A very sad outcome is that the Vulcan at the airport will have to relocate otherwise it will be scrapped I was hoping to visit at the weekend but apparently they aren't doing general visits to the plane any more :9

Bad news for any of our visitors who may have flown in there. I don't know if anyone did, but it will undoubtedly shift the cargo flights and others to either East Midlands, Leeds, or Manchester.

I wish the American Wings and Sails community were this organized to do stuff like this... and that someday I could find passage by ship to pop over and join you guys.

To be fair, the USA is so much larger than little old U.K.
Most members can get here with a few hours driving, or a short flight from the continent. Would be a much greater trek your side of the pond. Would be delighted to welcome you here one day...

True, doesn't mean we couldn't have more regional events corresponding to similar territorial area... Origins, Gencon and maybe Enfilade seem to be about it.

Peter (Teaticket) runs games at several HMGS events; granted, this is in the NE quadrant of the USA, as well as Origins.
I don't know what cons are up your way, DB.
That said, my time in 2017 at Doncaster was excellent. I want to go again sometime soon.
