Another great day of Wings of Glory in Dayton Ohio with the Wright Flights. In attendance was Bill (Old guy), Jim (rhodie80), Sean, Chris, Michael, Charles, and myself.
First, Chris brought his Staaken. We had the Staaken against the British Defense.
Release the STAAKEN!
For the British Defense. We have two American DH4, a DH5, and three SE5a.
The bullets where flying everywhere!
Between an Early BOOM! and Sean crashing with the Staaken three times! It went down quicker than we would have imagined. Sean's third crash is what took the Staaken out!
For the second mission of the day we had a dawn patrol dogfight. One side was made up of some 94th Squadron Nieuport 28s and a Breguet 14. On the other side some of Rudolf Berthold's JGII Fokker D.VII.
Lots of action! One of the Fokker D.VII was the first to fall. Americans 1, Germans 0
Another Fokker D.VII down. Americans 2, Germans 0
The action continues! Then the first American falls. Americans 2, Germans 1
Then, a change in the momentum. Two more of the Nieuports fall. Americans 2, Germans 3
The dance continues. Another of the Fokker is shot down. Americans 3, Germans 3
With this we wrapped up. The final tally is a tied game. 3 victories for both sides. A very wonderful day! Great games!
