Thread: Experimental STOL Rules

  1. #1

    Post Experimental STOL Rules

These rules are in particular meant for the Fi 156 Storch, which was one of the first true STOL (Short Take-Off and Landing) aircraft produced and could land in less than 10 metres (!!!) of runway space and take off in a similarly short length.

To represent this, a simple rule to make take-off and landing even shorter is to remove the "straight" cards from both take-off and landing. This means the process for landing is as follows:

    1. First, a dive, as described by the base rules.
    2. Secondly and finally, a stall. The airplane has landed.

And the process for taking off is as follows:

    1. First, a stall.
    2. Secondly and finally, a climb, as described by the base rules.

Let me know if these rules would cause any issues!

WOW 10 metres, that's staggering. Could land one in our back garden with room to spare. Mind the car port on take off though
