Thanks for the update Zoe. You might like to have a look at the tributes on the Over the Trenches Solo missions forum.

I spent yesterday afternoon with a tear in my eye re reading all Baz's missions.

I've just learned of this terrible news Baz was not only a great forum member, he was a great friend and will be sorely missed by many of us around the globe. Not only will I toast a tea to him, I have decided to name my tractor after him (even though he would think it was way to modern!). My thoughts go out to his "real life" friends and family during this sad time.

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
    And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, – and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of – wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there,
I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air…

Up, up the long, delirious burning blue
I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or ever eagle flew –
And, while with silent, lifting mind I’ve trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

I rembember sending him a Yuengling tee shirt with a F4F Corsair on it. He thanked me and wore it to game nights. Never did meet him but consider him a friend as I do to all in here. RIP my friend.

That's unbelievably bad and sad news, my sincerest condolences to his family and friends. He was always so full of life and enthusiasm in the OTT sub forum that I frequent, it's a sorry day for us all.
It's hard to believe that I won't be reading one of his AAR's ever again.
    Just so sad.

Zoe thanks for posting the news, I've not been on the forum for a little while and only just seen this.

Would it be possible for somebody on the "committee" (assuming there is one) to update the "Hall of Fallen Airmen". Since Barry was himself its moderator, this has not yet been done.

Baz usually posted well after the event, Mike, once he had received a eulogy from someone who knew them.
I'm happy to take it on if given the access and someone like Zoe can put some words together.

I spoke to Keith just after he posted, and we asked Zoe, who is collecting information from his family.

The family has asked that everyone here have a cup of tea in his memory, and to thank everyone on the forum for their friendship. They are quite aware of just how much gully_raker enjoyed both WGF and Tripods, and the companionship of everyone on this forum.
Having one for Gully_raker this morning. RIP

I came across this about our wingman Gully_raker this morning & flagged it up in the OTT Mess but I think others who knew him will appreciate it too.

Very nice article, Dave, I read it with pleasure. Just another proof WoG are extraordinary people even outside the (boardgame) box.
This link should be a part of his Hall of Fallen Airman tombstone.
