Default New player question on damage decks

    Hi

New player here and just about to play my first proper games.

Just need clarification. Do both players draw from the same damage deck or do they have one each?

    Thanks

    Same damage deck.

As I recall the rule of thumb is that you need one A deck for every 4 aircraft with A type guns, and the same for B type.

    Hope this helps.

Yes, you draw from the same deck. I like to use triple decks, more zeros... but also more Booms!

    I also use triple decks.
    Gotta spread the Booms/Fires/Wounds around.

    I use 7 "A," 5 "B," 5 "C," and 6 "D" decks. Still too many BOOMs

I've always removed the 'boom' cards from the deck at the start of the game and shuffled them in once the action had got under way a few turns in as there is nothing so soul destroying as being knocked out on the first turn, especially for a FNG (flying new guy/girl). This rebounded on me last week when after shuffling them into the deck I drew the next one!

If you need more cards then you can use another deck preferably from the old Wings of War sets that look different. That way you will not have trouble with making sure your packs are complete. If you have a spare deck but it is the same as the one you are using you can mark each card with a small cross or something similar to differentiate.

If you sleeve your damage decks, you can attach self-adhesive coloured spots (readily available from stationers) to the sleeves on the face side to indicate different sets of the same deck.

That's what I do, but on the back rather than the face.
Playing with 3 full decks I don't think anyone could figure out what's what - but, then again, I play solo ...
