    Default Infernal machines

It was a cold and windy night and the the wind howled and moaned through the barbed wire and detrius of no man's land. Lookouts shivered in their dark damp trenches and eagerly awaited the dawn. In the midst of the moaning wind clanking noises began to be heard along with what sounded like the throbbing of engines. Fearful of a new kind of assault. HQ ordered a dawn patrol up to investigate. The recce plane begins to quarter the front lines but despite straining to see using binoculars, nothing is seen. Then out of the west they finally see:--

The Observer, looks incredulous! What are they he wonders. They look like steel cockroaches.

Before he can take any photos he finds that he has a Spad on his six.

The German plane flown by Windy Jack does not return to base to report the pending attack.
Fortunately for the Germans, the French like the British have not got the resources to follow up
on any break through movements so the war will drag on.

The Spad pilot in his Spider adorned aircraft shot down the Rumpler quickly before the alarm could
be raised. With a dead gunner in a slower plane the German had no chance but that is war n'est-ce pas?

Love the Tanks Gary! Where did you source them?

I’ll have to crank up my 3D printer after we’ve got over our medical hurdles!

Those tanks are great - well done all!

We will know more when we visit the surgeon tomorrow afternoon. We should find out the results of the last lot of scans and also what the treatment plan will be from here on.

Well, that was quick. I do like the 3-D printed tanks; well-done to offspring unit & family!

Thanks, Baxter, for turning the game into an interesting AAR.
The pictures can't show every bit of the action. At one point the Rumpler was quite a way ahead of the SPAD, and was making a dash for home. However, despite the Rumpler's head start, the speed of the SPAD allowed it to catch up the distance when the Rumpler was some way from home, and inflict damage until the Rumpler fell.

Pretty neat flying Gary and bad luck Doug, losing your Observer at the beginning was always going to put you in trouble.

    Bravo the French.
That was a clinical action, but non the less interesting for that.
    Thanks for posting Gary.
