    An interesting choice. Let me look at things next week.
    Note: given the poor performance of the M4 37mm cannons (low MV and RoF), I would speculate that they would have been swapped out for 20mm if it reached USA service.

    they actually had a number of projected weapons packages;
    6 .50s + 4 20mms
    6 37mms
    8 37mms
    8 20mms
    8 .60s (yes .60 calibers. i had to check it out myself)
    12 .50s

    obviously im assuming the continental engines having been swapped for something more appropriate such as merlins as there wouldnt be much justification for building more without doing so.
    my cursory research seems to imply that the moonbat would be very versatile like a later mcdonald-douglas product; the f4 phantom. ground attack, anti shipping, long range escort etc.

    forgot to ask. is this assuming the continental engines or a reengine?

    Good question--that's from Wikipedia, I'm assuming the Continentals.

    XP-67 Moonbat: Deck: T(hf)(8); guns: 6xD/3xD*; Damage: 28; Ceiling: 12; Climb: 4; HF base
    *Note: given the great dislike of US pilots with the M4 37mm cannon, I suspect
    if the bugs were worked out, it would end up with 20mm cannon, so 6xC/3xC.
