Wings of Glory is a World War I air combat miniatures game using 1/144 scale aircraft. So is perfect for an afternoon of dog fighting using your favourite planes.

Games begin at 1pm. Three games will be scheduled with a maximum 60 minutes per game.

Advanced Rules as detailed in the Wings of Glory rule book will be used.

The following Optional Rules will be used:
    Tailing
    Aim
    Firing from above
    Disruption
    Explosion tournament rule

Aircraft and Special Abilities will be used and paid for according to the point system below. Pre game damage is permitted. Rookie Pilots are permitted but squadrons may only include one.

Squadrons may include two aircraft, but Squadrons are limited to 100 points.

Bring your favourite aircraft miniatures, movement decks, damage decks and range ruler.

At the beginning of each round, altitude will be determined by a dice roll.

    WINGS OF GLORY DOGFIGHT SCENARIOS
    1. Random Deployment: Dice for entry point for each aircraft as follows; 1 - left side within a range ruler of corner, 2 - baseline within a range ruler of left corner, 3 - baseline at least a range ruler but no more than two rulers of left corner, 4 - baseline at least a range ruler but no more than two rulers of right corner, 5 - baseline within a range ruler of right corner, 6 - right side within a range ruler of corner.

    2. Attack From the Clouds: each player places two clouds in the playing area and number them 2,3,4,5. A cloud cannot be placed within a range ruler of another cloud. Players dice to determine attacker/defender. Add one (+1) to your roll if your squadron costs less than your opponent’s. Subtract one (-1) if you have more aircraft than your opponent. The winner of the roll-off is the Attacker. Defender deploys anywhere on their base edge. The Attacker rolls a die and deploys on the corresponding numbered cloud, a roll of 1 allows the Defender to choose any cloud and a 6 allows the Attacker to choose. The Attacker may deploy their aircraft facing in any direction. Remove clouds after deployment. The Defender must plan a slow straight for their first maneuver card.

    3. Attack From the Sun: players dice to determine attacker/defender. Add one (+1) to your roll if your squadron costs less than your opponent’s. Subtract one (-1) if you have more aircraft than your opponent. The winner of the roll-off is the Attacker. Defender deploys anywhere on their base edge. The Attacker adds one altitude peg to their aircraft base (If the Attacker is on altitude 4 then the Defender must remove one altitude peg) and then deploys anywhere on their base edge. The Defender must plan a slow straight for their first maneuver card.

    Game duration: 60 minutes.

Winning the game: the player with the highest score at the end of the game wins.

How to score points: for each enemy aircraft destroyed you score points equal to its value plus any ace abilities. Half-points are awarded for each enemy aircraft reduced to below half at the end of the game.
