Last night we were down to two - myself and Andy (Sherlochnumber1) - then Sean turned up so we had two against a Martian Tripod !
I piloted the Tripod, I had to destroy four objectives - selected randomly - and get back to my cylinder to clinch the win. Andy flew Voss's Albatros D.III, Sean took charge of Udet's Albatros D.Va.
Concentrating on managing the game I didn't take many photos..
Needless to say there was a little smoke & heat rays thrown about - and plenty of lead !
Enough to get the job done before I could snatch victory - I got half the job done before my luck ran out - Sean scored the Boom (9 pts) early on.
The second game I rolled out the big guy ! Andy switched to a Dr.1 and spurned the chance to switch to a D.VII.. something he'd later regret !
Close but no cigar !
But I could provide a light as I backed up ! Resultant wounded token has been placed.
Moving off I overlapped with Sean (hmm.. maybe look at those CQ ideas again..)
Andy fell foul of a black smoke I left behind me - 5 points. The earlier X heat-ray had given him 7 wounded pilot.
Sean chased me around the remaining objectives, we traded heat and lead !
Finally we called it when I managed to sprint away and was a move from home. You can see I lost my Black Smoke launchers which happened in our last pass, hence no surprises for him as I ran away.
It was good to see Sean back in action after being absent for over a year and he thoroughly enjoyed it so I expect we'll see a bit more of him in next few weeks. Sadly he can't make FC due to a family commitment.
Only two games this time but thoroughly engaging and played at leisurely pace with time for tea !

Well we managed a table full last night with six in attendance, myself, Andy (Sherlochnumber1), Iain (Chianti Warrior), Hobz (Yellow Peril), Sean & Richard.
First game suggested was circa 1917 the Entente (Iain, Sean & Richard) pulled out some Brisfit's and a Camel for Sean; I took an Albatros D.Va, Andy took a Hannover & Hobz a Halberstadt CL.II (yellow of course).
I exchanged blows with Richard early on and he set me on fire - it went downhill rapidly from there ending when I collided with Sean's Camel - Boom !
That's Rich in the background, I so nearly had him !
Hobz, already ablaze himself wins a head to head with Iain !
Andy dealt with Rich when he was attacked from the rear - that'll teach him !
The A Boom was courtesy of my first pass I'm told
Sean rapidly avenged his fallen comrades by taking out Hobz - that fire really didn't help his chances !
That left Andy & Sean to battle it out - after much manoeuvring they duked it out head to head to mutual destruction.
Who are those masked men ?
Left to right: Andy, Hobz , Iain, Sean & Richard.
Next we went off to the Italian Front.
Us CP chaps took the Phoenix D.I, the Entente a brace of Macchi M.3's & a Camel piloted by Rich this time.
Last time me and Andy used Phoenix's it didn't go well .. guess what !
Me and Hobz are taken out simultaneously by Iain & Rich; the third row of damage are my +1's
Andy was a bit worried but Sean allayed his fears by flying into Iain - Crunch !
Andy caught Rich a cropper with a close range Boom and 5 wnd at +1 - Outrageous !
And again after much manoeuvring and sniping he polished off Iain ! +1's on the right.
Gluttons for punishment we went on for a third game - the CP selecting Dr.1's, the Entente N.28's & a DH.4 on a recon mission. " Dr.1's ? We want a quick game then !" I quipped.
And Lo ... Hobz, playing Lother, falls to two pilot wounds from Sean. Well, he was prone to wounds.
Just hanging in there flying Voss I was sideswiped by Iain as he turn left - Crunch ! 8 will do it !!
Andy 's left on his lonesome again.. Rich fly's over the target - say cheese !
Andy goes after Rich, he manages to set him ablaze the moment that Iain cuts him down from close range at +1..
Rich survive the fire and made it back to base with pics for a clear Entente win
I didn't score a kill but had a lot of fun sharing banter with the chaps who did - that's everyone else !
Rich & Hobz had 1 a piece, Sean got 3, Iain got 3 + 1 for crashing out Voss & Andy got 4. Well done all and thanks for the entertainment.
Even got home in time to see England win the semi final in extra time

Great to see a real live evenings entertainment again, and your games were pretty good too Dave.
Thanks for posting these very well commentated games, and no need for extra time in any of them!
Rob.

Great pics and narratives Dave, a great evening was had by all. I don’t think I’ve survived so long in games without getting shot down but back to form in the last one!
Look like fun games Dave. Thanks for the report.
Nice to see you are keeping yourself busy there Dave Nice report. Thanks for sharing
Great games, Dave! Lots of BOOM cards
Thanks chaps, if we get the numbers there may be a couple of tables next week.

Most entertaining reports, Dave!
Thanks for sharing.
I laugh in the face of danger - then I hide until it goes away!
Last nights combatants were Andy (Sherlochnumber1), Iain (Chianti Warrior), Hobz (Yellow Peril), Lee(Gangleader147), Sean, Richard & me
First up we exercised the lumbering beasts - Andy & Iain flew HP O/400's, the latter the RNAS one with red engines - and we took them on with Fokker D.VII's - me in my 'patriotic scheme', Hobz in the Yellow (naturally)(Sachsenberg's), Lee the white (Goering) Sean the lilac (Stark's), Richard the red (Udet's). Here we are, well into the fight, mostly trying to chase them down after the first pass.
Andy's luck finally ran out right at the end of the table but he took his tormentor with him !
Top group's are Hobz's, second line at +1 ; Lower group are Andy's second line at +1 Iain made it to safety with 20 points of damage, one being a Boom from a collision with Lee early on in the game
Game two saw a recon run by Hobz in a Halberstadt CL.II escorted by Lee & Richard in their Fokker's from the previous game. Andy & myself are in Sopwith Triplanes, his Dallas (cdl), Mine Collishaw (green with corrected top wing spacing); Sean was in Barker's Camel (stripes), Iain B'Proctor's (hearts).
We join the game as Hobz heads for home (after a very dubious reversal), Andy is going the other way in his blindspot, the Fokker's are scrambling back to cover Hobz; Sean trails smoke, me and Iain are both trailing fire.... And it had started so well !
I just elude Lee's attentions but Sean catches fire when he's chopped down by Lee #1
Iain slipped behind Hobz and was caught and put down by Lee #2
I was chasing after Hobz when Richard, who was alongside him, Immelled and finished me off
Andy was next, both Richard & Lee had a go at him but Lee had the final word ! #3
And then there were none ! A clean sweep for the German's.
The final game saw us switch out to the Italian front - Andy took a Brisfit, escorted by a pair of Camel's piloted by Sean & Iain who kept the same machines from the previous game. His was a recon mission.
I joined Hobz, Lee & Richard flying Albatros D.III's. I took Hautzmeier, Hobz Brumowski, Richard had Gruber, and Lee took Voss.
Andy's out of frame to the right overshooting the target but here we are mixing it with the Camel's behind him.
Hobz, already wounded scrapping with Andy gets two more from Iain at close range - he's well and truly done !
Lee gets on Andy as he's struggling to get on target - after a few exchanges at +1 Lee is victorious again ! (#4)
Sean catches Richard to avenge the loss of the Brisfit with a totally unnecessary double 5 !
I catch Sean as he Immels and soften him up for Lee who, shooting over my shoulder, claims his fifth of the night (#5)
We called it a night there much to Iain's relief as he had 1 point remaining and agreed it was definitely Lee's night
Hope you enjoyed the read, one more to come then it's free for all and Flight Club !

Sapiens qui vigilat... "He is wise who watches"
Rather good night and has to be said, the best results I’ve ever had. I didn’t think that would be the case after the first game ans my rudder issues!
Last night's combatants braving the heat for the last instalment of 'Back In The Room' were me (flash), Andy (Sherlochnumber1), Iain (Chianti Warrior), Hobz (Yellow Peril), Sean & Richard....
Gawd the heat !
We started with an early 1917 dogfight - I flew my captured N.17 with LMG.08 fitted, Andy too Brumowski's Albatros D.III, Sean joined us with the Voss Albatros D.III taking on Iain in McCudden SE5a, Hobz in Soubrian's SPAD V.II & Richard in a Sopwith triplane.
After some vicious skirmishing Andy's D.III was downed by Ian's SE and Hobz's SPAD by Sean's D.III. Their demise was greatly added to when Andy picked up a spiky hedgehog early on from Rich and Hobz had a collision.
After colliding with Sean and taking a jamming shot from Rich, Sean set him on fire
Sean finished him off next turn with a +1
You will see Rich had picked up a spiky hedgehog from Andy !
Iain was left on his own against me and Sean - I was very worried he could get on my tail but a wide sideslip on my part, a misjudged turn on his and I managed to turn the tables and get a shot on him; following up with a stall I gave him a close range burst at +1 that sent him down as he crossed my nose.
Next up, in preparation for flight club Andy & Iain again ran a couple of HP O/400 against the rest of us in Fokker D.VII's.
After a number of exchanges Rich, in Udet's, & me, in my patriotic scheme, close of Andy's machine as it runs alongside Iain's as the bombs fall from alt 4.
Iain scores a direct hit - Andy a near miss.
Iain's victory is short lived as his pursuer's put him down before he can escape. Kill to Sean again in Stark's D.VII.
The +1 spiky hedgehog did not help Iain's cause !
Having continuously thrown myself in front of the gun to save my comrades my D.VII falls under Andy's tail to fire damage. Second line are the +1's
Andy slipped away with 29/30 damage ! Sean & Rich collided as he left - this is their final damage:
Next up it was back to the Italian front. Andy & Rich took the Phoenix D.I - again...
Being late to the table I took Sabeditch's B firing Aviatik. That should last longer than one of those old Phoenix.. right ?
Wrong !!
WTF ! Who shuffled this deck ? Two shots from two different pilots.. Holy mating spiky hedgehogs ! Kill to Iain.
After some chasing about Hobz knocks Andy down
Sean picks up the spare by downing Rich - you'll see the spiky hedgehogs made it back into the pack !
We called it there, exhausted by the heat but three more good games played, banter exchanged & those of us able to attend looking forward to Flight Club at the weekend.
Top gun of the night was Sean with 4 kills, a result he was quietly pleased with as the 'new boy' at the table, and rightly so.
Hopefully we are all now able to bet back in the room so I bring this to a close with thanks to my fellow gamers at Entoyment for their presence at the table and patience with the photography requirements. It's been a lot of fun & I look forward to many more. WW2 Pacific next week.!
