    Default Shapeways flight stand pegs

    Hi

I remember seeing a link in another post for Shapeways pegs for the fighter stands. Can someone in the know, post me a link on Shapeways as I can’t find them now even with a search.

    Thanks

    Baz

Those are the ones I have received - should be using the first of them this weekend.

Thought I'd give one of each a try, but I changed my mind when I saw the cost of postage. Around £13.00 for the two products together and more than £17.00 for the postage. I'm disappointed

I was going to order some just now, but the postage is more than the product (and I'm in the US)
Going to wait and see if I order something else with them will the postage work out more reasonable.

What’s the best way of connecting the pegs to the planes?

I am assuming just glue but I’m not sure which type to use.

Cyanoacrylate (super glue) is fine, and you'll only need a tiny little dab to hold it securely.

I have used the drill pins so far - make a hole with a pin vice the same size as the peg insert, then wedge it right in there.
A small dab of a flexible adhesive, like UHU, Bostik or Evostick, just to make sure.

I don't trust Superglue-type cyanoacrylates for this kind of job; they hold the parts together just fine, but will shear and shatter in response to a sudden impact, such as dropping the plane onto a hard surface, such as a table or floor. The adhesives listed above will flex, bend a little, and will not crack or split off in the same fashion.

I've got some of the stick-on 'flanged' pegs, but haven't used them yet.
When I do, the lack of the tight insertion of the 'drilled' pegs will mean it's even more important to use the flexible glue, rather than a cyanoacrylate.

If you have access to a 3D printer, I have put my designs up on Thingiverse for pegs that can be glued to F-Toys or Shapeways miniatures. You can download the files here:
