If the pilot sees the Fokker D.VII this way, a collision should occur. Draw a C damage card.
But from a two seater observer point a view, drop your camera and grab your machine gun. Urgently !

First and last glimpse - he's in your blind spot and you're already dead

Its supposed to be an early-Fokker built DVII finished in the markings of the classic 286/18 flown by Jasta 11 ace Willi Gabriel. Part of The Vintage Aviator Collection. It is fitted with a new build Mercedes engine. Here it is at Hood Aerodrome, Masterton, NZ. Picked this angle for the tail detail.

See this for comments on the build: http://www.theaerodrome.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=72388

Great pics Barry & Dave, and cartoon is hilarious. Come to think of it, shouldn't all pilots have clown makeup on? Asking for a friend...........

Actually, any allied pilot must have feared to be in such a position.
German pilots in Fokker D.VII attacked any allied planes, not only the British ones.

Quite true; they were equal-opportunity attackers

I've seen variations from red to yellow stripes and bits in between but most fall in the orange hue, then again, does anyone know for sure how accurate the colours were on anything in WW1 ?! This is a TVAL aircraft and they usually try to get as close as they can.
This is an example of 1/48 scale decals showing off the Gabriel stripes, along with others.

We have a couple in here: https://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/sh...allenge-VOTING!!
