A large thick book covering a very important part of the air war, the taking of photographs for intelligence use. In 350 pages, hundreds of photographs are used to document the changing landscape of western Flanders during the course of the war. Many of the aerial images are of the front, but some show areas some distance behind the lines illustrating an ammunition depot and destruction of railroad lines during Germany's retreat in 1918.
Not all the photographs are aerial. Many ground views are given to illustrate what some features would look like from the ground, like the anti-aircraft gun shown below.
I highly recommend this book, but it is a bit pricey.
