Thread: RIP Prince Philip

    Default RIP Prince Philip

A statement from Buckingham Palace said: "It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle."

    Thank you for your service.

A great man, I met him a couple of times at official functions. He will be sorely missed.

He certainly lived a long & full life surviving WW2 as a destroyer Captain was no mean feat.

An inspiration to us all. The very definition of duty and loyalty. The world is a poorer place today without him.

Colonel in Chief of my Corps since 1969.

    It has all been said.
The epitome of Duty and Service; his unflinching support for Her Majesty and his devotion to her and his family are inspirations, not to mention his conservation and innovation interests.
The 'documentary' news reports have revealed so much more about him that I never knew - he did indeed lead a full and fascinating life.

I met him once, in Windsor Great Park, and allowed him to hit my shield with an axe, but his bodyguards wouldn't let me return the favour, despite his wishes for me to do so!
I laugh in the face of danger - then I hide until it goes away!

" This capture of Prince Philip dressed as a guard of His Majesty surprises the Queen who recognizes him while passing and has fun, reveals to her alone the secret of an agreement of three quarters of a century: always have fun together "
