With 95% of those over 11 in Canberra fully vaccinated as of yesterday, 99%+ partly vaccinated as of October 31, and a prediction of 99% fully vaccinated by Christmas, Cancon 2022 is definitely on.

Visitors from Interstate should keep a close eye on state regulations for entering the Australian Capital Territory, and returning home afterwards. International visitors, if fully vaccinated, may not have to quarantine.

As has been traditional for the last 10 years, there should be a rolling Wings of Glory WWI participation game on all three days. Join at any time, fly off the table at any time, return at any time. The application is in, but no guarantee of acceptance. So far, none of the applications have ever been rejected, but space is limited, especially with social distancing.

The 2022 theme is Red Star/White Eagle/Red Planet. Here followeth the blurb....

"1920 - while the Great War pandemic is receding, the Red Army is pouring into Poland, objective Paris, and seemingly nothing can stop them.

Both sides, Polish and Soviet, were equipped with a rag tag of aircraft from all nations, some the very latest, some long obsolete, and many surplus from the War to end all Wars.

Then the Martians landed, and implacable enemies became uneasy allies.

Scenarios will include actions on the Western Front in 1918, Squabbles between various national independence groups in 1919, and the Martian Invasion.

Depending on time available and participant wishes, there may be appearances by Snoopy vs the Red Baron in 1918, and Santa Claus vs the Martians in 1920.

Wings of Glory participation games have been run every year since 2012, and have proved very popular with young and old, newcomers and grognards. It takes 5 minutes to learn the rules, but a lifetime to master them."
