Been thinking that, with changes in work circumstances (I`m now officially a semi-retired OAP) I might be able to make it down to Doncaster this year provided we don`t get another lockdown. Just so long as I don`t get asked for my Scottish passport at Berwick.

    Sounds like a good plan

If the dates are still 17th, 18th and 19th September then things should be OK. There is another event I`m already provisionally booked for for the 10th to 12th which might happen if Doncaster is.
Should I get hotel bookings sorted now or should I wait for a bit?

Book now, you can always cancel if things change in late September

I'm currently in negotiations with the family (I may have to do a few diplomatic missions to Alderaan where many Bothans may die however) to try and make it up there in September - Probably looking at the 18th as the best date for us all! My wife and daughter are definitely NOT into table-top gaming of any description but we're looking at 'things to do' for them while they're there... Whilst ol' dad gets to move miniature planes and/or tripods around a tabletop for a few hours!

So at this stage "I'm a 'B' " - Wasn't that a Beatles song?... Oh right, 'Let it be'!

So hopefully I may just get to meet some of you!

Hopefully you will be able to join us Seth. The Swimbos usually find something to do as a group. There is a big shopping area witin walking distance of the hotel. They have also made days out for a hiastorical trip at York and more shopping therapy at Sheffield MeadowHall previously.

Yea Seth - Hope you can make it. There's an outside chance Yon (Mrs Mikeemagnus) will also be there and she is definitely not a table top gamer (Although she was persuaded to play one time, and won ).

Here's hoping to meet both Robert and Seth at Donnie.

Greetings! Just to give you a quick update... It's looking increasingly likely I'll be able to make it on the 18th! (Though erring on the side of caution, I'd still say 'I'm a B')

Is there anything I need to bring? All being well I'll have quite a healthy selection of Plane packs (though still quite the starter force by most standards) by then so I can load up with anything people recommend.

Any suggestions - for both on and off table - would be most welcome, I'd appreciate any tips!

Fly safe... And keep that tea warm!

Thank you! That's good to know... Even this early into the games (admittedly not against any human oppoents... yet) I'm really liking how the Camel flies ... and being a stoic british stiff upper-lip type, what-what... I'll bring the duo that I have at least.

Though a lot could happen between now and September so you never know, I may be a fan of the Central Powers!

Already have one, the D.H.4... I plan on taking it out on it's maiden flight very soon. I plan to get a Bristol & a Breguet (no suprises there) but... SHOCK HORROR!... I have a Ufag C.I. and a Rumpler C.IV in the post as of today!

I can't seem to get anyone of my gaming group interested in 'Wings' at the moment so it looks like I'm stuck playing solo for the forseeable future - But if I leave it out on the table a couple of times, it may just stir up some interest.

Bozo??? How dare you denigrate our fine, upstanding leader with insulting terms such as that. Pistols at dawn, sir!

Spoke to the lovely Tracey at the Air Museum, and it’s all go, no limits on numbers, no need for masks and we don’t have to have the table limit numbers that I thought we might.

Although she does ask that we all keep our kit on and tackle away as they had to catch and remove a streaker yesterday, he/she was running around in lingerie, tackle out and with a furry butt plug in, filming the whole thing with a selfie stick. (I’m sure there is a joke in there concerning Bristols somewhere, lol)

Uh oh. There's now a growing possibility that I may not be able to make Donnie after all I have informed Chris already and I won't know for certain for a while yet but if I can't then Chris has the WWI game covered - many thanks Chris. It's a family thing and would involve our going to Canada. The dates just happen to coincide with our September dates. Have to say, I shall be overjoyed to meet my grandson for the first time and to celebrate my son's 40th with him (20th September) and the rest of the family. But by the same token I shall really miss attending Donnie
Canada seems to be opening its borders to double vaccinated folk from September 1st and the UK has announced that those returning from countries on the amber list, currently including Canada, will not need to isolate. But who knows what changes might occur between now and then. Hence the clash.
Ah well, C'est la vie huh. There's always next year.
