These two planes represent the same aircraft at different times.
When K4176 initially showed up in the Pacific she was painted in all aluminum. This was the scheme that most Vildebeest would have been in at the outbreak of war. I airbrushed it AK Extreme Metal Duralumin, which is a great product. I masked and airbrushed the black/red diamond using Mr Color Paints. The national insignia are Misc Mini as are the red pants for the wheel fenders. The plane numbers are all home made decals. The B’s are all MicroScale decals. They have tons of different alphanumeric decals of all different varieties.
Later, K4176 was part of the prewar camouflage trials. Period photos suggest she was painted in the “Shadow Compensating variation of the temperate land scheme “. She was based at Seletar, Malaya on December 7th, 1941. I airbrushed this plane using Mr Color Paints. Decals are cobbled together from a bunch of Misc Mini sets.
