    Default Spot the mistakes

We are on a driving holiday catching up with family - Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Coffs Harbour and return. Along the way I convinced my lovely lady to take in the Fleet Air Arm Museum and the Historical Aviation Restoration Society Society in exchange for numerous stops at craft shops and boutiques. On one stop I managed to find a hobby shop while she was contributing to the local economy and I spotted these:

I always remember one from a japanese translation of a Hasegawa model tank kit from many, many years ago...

"Crush the caterpillar with a heated driver" !!!!

Meaning "melt the tracks together with a heated screwdriver"

Years ago, the great and much-missed Clive James presented his own TV show, which had a section for mistranslation of instructions found on consumer goods.

My favourite was a 9 inch kitchen knife from Korea, the packaging of which bore the instruction "Keep out of children!" (instead of "Keep out of reach of children"...)
I laugh in the face of danger - then I hide until it goes away!
