Nice place for a beer. I would suggest taking cover!

Don't spill your beer when you duck!

That is not me or South Australia in the photo. I scabbed it from the IPACS forums because of the plane coming in from behind.

It looks like a scene from the children's book, "What Do You Say, Dear?"

I don't know if it was just a "war story" but my dad used to tell me how they would send a beer keg up in the bomb bay of a B-25. A little time at high altitude would give it a nice chill!

It was said it improved & refreshed the kegs on their way to Normandy where the fighter's were based.

The Aussie WW2 Ace S/L Keith Caldwell also ferried beer to their Airfield at Morakai & got Court Marshalled for his trouble.

Ah yes .... Some of the brass definitely did not (and still do not) have a sense of humour. I was blessed on the other hand with having a truly great Captain who had a great one. I remember once being out there when they had a gunnery exercise going on. I was a mere radio operator and I asked him if he would not mind stopping that infernal racket as it was hard to hear on the radio. He laughed a lot, others would not have.
