Turn 2 and the action hots up.
2.1 - As the Jagdfliegers try to untangle themselves in the centre Camelbeagle and Gangleader147 swoop in guns blazing to add to the confusion. Flash returns fire at Camelbeagle but Sherlochnumber1 and Marechallannes can’t quite bring their guns to bear.
2.2 – Camelbeagle flies past the DIIs and fires at Stumptonian. Marechallannes , Graugans and Karo7 continue to climb seeking an advantage. (Apologies - I realised when writing this that Karo7 should in fact now be at Altitude 4, it will be corrected for Turn 3 – boys do those Spads climb quickly)
2.3 – Stumptonian performs a Split-S and swaps fire with Camelbeagle and Gangleader147. Karo7 and Graugans continue their private air display whilst Sherlochnumber1 and Flash now flying in a more comfortable formation head NW.

It has been brought to my attention that I have made an error with respect to Flash's manoeuvres in this turn. Please accept my apologies, I was trying to get the turn sorted between arriving home from work and cooking dinner. More haste less speed! Having reviewed the error it changes little of the events of the turn, but does mean that Flash's Albatros will finish in a different position. I have amended the last photo accordingly. If anyone wishes to change their Turn 3 moves in light of this, then please send me the revisions.

I played in the Play by e-mail games Mark Gibbons (Chequers) ran several years back, worked much the same as this but a bit slower as he had about 20 machines at various levels, pointing various various directions all over the board, and all against all...!

Yesterday was very busy with blood donation and shiftwork, so I posted turn 3 not until today morning.

Turn 3 - Regroup and Gain Position
3.1 After the hectic action of the previous turn our valiant fliers attempt to outmanoeuvre their opponents to gain an advantageous firing position. Stumptonian, Gangleader147 and Camelbeagle narrowly avoid colliding whilst Graugans seems to be inspecting Karo7s undercarriage for damage.
3.2 Gunfire erupts once more as Karo7, Graugans and Sherlochnumber1 exchange fire whilst the remainder of our protagonists struggle in their attempts to bring their guns to bear.
3.3 Back to aerial ballet as no-one gains a decisive advantage in this duel of manoeuvre. Marechallannes and Camelbeagle use this lull in the action to strive for more altitude.
Round 4 in.

Turn 4 If you cant take the heat....
4.1 Stumptonian banks right, opening fire on Gangleader147s Spad. Flash banks left to bring Camelbeagle into his sights and gives him the good news. Graugans banks left away from the pursuing Marechallannes and out of the path of the onrushing Gangleader 147. Sherlochnumber1 slips narrowly under Marechallannes Halberstadt as he looks to rejoin the action. Meanwhile Karo7 performs yet another Immelmann,and from his position above the action carefully watches the events below.
4.2 Flash continues to trail Camelbeagle and pours fire into him at close range. Marechallannes climbs and heads straight for Gangleader147. The pair exchange fire. Stumptonian tries to keep his guns on Gangleader147 but has misjudged it and is too close to bring them to bear. Graugans climbs to follow Karo7s lead.
4.3 Gangleader147 and Marechallannes both turn the same way trying to avoid avoid a head-on smash and collide anyway. Struts, fabric and wires groan and tear but both remain airborne. Camelbeagle has shaken Flash off his tail (for now). Stumptonian follows Graugans northwards whilst Karo7 banks left and heads towards the melee. Despite the collision, Gangleader147 manages to shoot up Sherlochnumber1 as he crosses his gunsights.
Wow - busy turn!

I'm impressed, its only been an hour and twenty minutes since I posted Turn 4 and I'm only waiting for two sets of orders for Turn 5. Is there nothing on the TV tonight?
