Inspired by Florian's (Karo7) herculean efforts (and pinching most of his ideas), I am going to attempt to spread the love a little and run a second community play by PM game.
Duration: max 15 rounds, turnaround - 1 round per 2 days (hopefully)
Gaming surface: Two WoG mats (Countryside and Coast) so approx 134cm* x 97cm
Rules: Advanced rules with altitude (flying higher) and explosions (causes only half of the planes max. damage, rounded up).
Procedure: The participants can choose a plane and their starting position (eg top, centre or bottom of starting edge) and a heading (eg W or SW).* Starting altitude is 3.
The planes will be marked with a name sign, the actual altitude and climb markers.
Every player dispatches me a PM with its three manoeuvres in the format "R[round number]:[manoeuvre number 1],[manoeuvre number 2],[manoeuvre number 3]" for the next round (e.g. R4:1,2,4).
If all manoeuvres have arrived, I post aerial view images for every phase of the round, plus additional atmospheric images.
Shooting phase: I manage the damage, and inform the players about secret damage. If there are multiple targets, I ask the player which one should be chosen.
Central powers start from the landward side (Eastern edge), Entente enter from the sea (Western edge).
Winning conditions:
The side with the highest score wins. Each team scores 1 point for each enemy aircraft which leaves the gaming field, 2 points for every enemy airplane shot down and -1 for each of its own airplanes shot down.
