Valom Dr. I Hans Weiss, Jasta 11 just finished painting and gloss varnished. I am going to apply the decals tomorrow.
I am rather pleased with the result, as I had to lighten the colours up, to consider the darkening through the gloss varnish. Now its almost the same red, dark olive and sky blue tone like the
WoG Richthofen Brother's planes.
I love the stage of a Valom kit, when the gloss varnish is applied. The smooth surface and the filter through the varnish turns the model kit in a true
WoG game piece. There's only the extra weight of the
WoG metal fuselage missing. I will put fishing lead in my next Valom kit, to achieve a more sophisticated feeling. On the other hand, this will turn every crash of the model in a certain disaster.
