Default An Ode to Being Old....

A number of year's ago my daughter did a show called "Barnum" in which one of the protagonists sang a song entitled "Thank God I'm Old" -- I see the wisdom of it now....please see attached article:

Good article Bill. I will gladly sing "Thank God I'm Old" (hopefully) for a long time. The only alternative to not be old isn't a good one.

Reminiscent of a story Douglas MacArthur told of his 80th birthday. (Background, in WWI he was one of the youngest general officers in the Army, and going out into No Man's Land alongside the men under him armed with only a riding crop, and he was the last living member of West Point's Class of 1903.) So one of his old 42nd Division doughboys who was attending asked him how it felt to finally be OLD, and his response was "When you consider where all of my Academy classmates are now, pretty good actually."
