    Thumbs up

I think this is the one he did for the Australian War Memorial Museum in Canberra.

Do you think that Peter Jackson might make a full length WW1 flying movie one day?

You should see it in the Australian War Memorial museum. It is projected so is super large and just stunning!

It forms the backdrop to 2 aircraft, a Pfalz D.XII and an Albatross D.III. Jackson was allowed to 3D scan the D.III all over in exchange for making the movie for the museum.

Looking at the movie again makes me think that some of the sequences were shot using some of his collection of flying replicas.

    Point of order, Mr Speaker.

    It's a D.Va, not a D.III.

    See https://www.awm.gov.au/articles/blog/capturing-albatros

The remarkable events that resulted in the first enemy aircraft to be brought down intact by the Australian Flying Corps (AFC) were marred by the news that two of their own had disappeared in the aftermath of the fierce and fiery battle.
Definitely a case of Truth being stranger than Fiction...

    .
Most people might find getting there a little tricky though, given that Australia has closed its borders to foreigners due to the current situation.

Canberra, where the museum is, has just re opened its borders to Victorians. As long as they go into 2 weeks quarantine. Visitors from other Australian states are discouraged, but not actually prohibited, nor required to quarantine.

As for me.. Google Maps puts it as a 4.1km journey from my front door. Better to be born lucky than rich.

When i saw it i couldn't believe this existed. WW1 movies either use a replacement, wrong aircraft or - if computerized like Flyboys - it screwes up on other stuff like red camo for all Huns, black for the King Fiend, or such.
This is really fun to watch.
