Just a quick missive for the attention of 'Dromers based in the U.K.
There is a steadily increasing likelihood that the U.K will no longer have access to the Customs Union of the E.U. from January 1st next year.
Hopefully, some Common Sense will be panel-beaten into the negotiators before then, but if the worst should come to pass it occurred to me that the cost of 'Shapeways' minis from the Netherlands will become significantly higher.
1) the value of the Pound will fall against the value of the Euro.
2) any or all orders from 'Shapeways' will become subject to Import Duty.
3) 'Royal Fail' will likely hold on to the parcels, awaiting payment of the Duty, and will thus add on their "fondling fee", currently standing @ £8.
This triple whammy could add quite a bit to the cost of 'Shapeways' planes/bits 'n' bobs.
I'd advise anyone spuriously planning purchases early next year to sort them sooner rather than later, and get their orders in before Hogmanay.
