Thread: Extra hands . . .

    Default Extra hands . . .

With a continued decline in movement and hand strength I find extra hands handy while the elves are taking a break . . . lengths of house wiring, micro alligator clips, a block of wood and a few tools . . . self explanatory. . .

Funny that you posted this. I just ordered a set of Extended Alligator clips. They are 6" and 3.5". I was thinking of how t do this but being lazy, and not as skilled as you, I just saw them and ordered them. As always you inspire us with your
    different ideas.

I love crazy ideas like this ... especially when they work. Great idea.

Well my order was to be delivered on Monday. I get an email that it is delayed until Tuesday or Wendsday (22/23 Sept). Then I get an email that the package is lost. So that ended that. Now thanks to Clipper I have to use his method, which I think will be better. Now just have to find the clips.
    Thanks for posting this.

It's things like this that define genius. We've all seen various clip tools to aid modeling, like this

But David shows us a cheaper, and likely more versatile way.

I have one like that but it has a magnifying glass instead of three hands. Very useful for doing decals. Bought it at Harbor Freight for $5. Clippers idea would be used for doing the spray paint base coat.

After seeing what Clipper did I checked to find parts of what he used. Prior to this I ordered something but it was lost so I came up with this idea. Found the clips at ACE Hardware and I had the rods I used. The rods are 4mm plactic dowels and I just super glued (LOCK TITE) them in the clips. Then I bought a foam piece that is used for floral arrangements. Ihave a device like Jager showed and use that for decaling. This is nothing special but works for me.
